Sk8 & Play Project

(Sessional Youth/ Skate Worker)

£8.50 per hour


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified sessional youth/ skate worker to deliver a mobile skate and play service to children (5-16 years) in disadvantaged and hard-to-reach areas within Worcester City. The Big Lottery has awarded Worcester Play Council with a grant from the ‘Awards for All’ programme to deliver sessional mobile skate and play sessions throughout a 12 month period.

The position will help us to deliver positive activities for children and young people throughout various City wide locations, meeting our targets for Big Lottery Funding. You will work as part of a team- Youth workers will be expected to pick up, transport and erect a mobile skate unit to the locations. When at the locations, the youth workers, alongside the other workers will help to engage all children in a fun-filled skate and play programme.

Staff will be supported by a team of volunteers to maximize delivery. All staff will be expected to carry out surveys and evaluations to support they project which will be presented to various community groups. Each post will require regular evening and weekend work.

You will be required to pass a disclosure check regarding unspent convictions and cautions before commencing work. If you disclose any information you will be treated fairly and will not be discriminated against. When in post, you will be required to carry out various training sessions.
