With an increasing number of young people suffering from depression, low self-esteem, self harm and struggling with issues of self, relationships and sexuality how do we as YFC respond?

This training seeks to explore some of the key issues faced by young people, methods of supporting young people through challenging times and how we respond as Youth for Christ workers.

The training will be led by Zoe Abernethy and Alison Hardy.

Alison Hardy is married to Andrew with 4 children and after training as a nurse, spent 7 years working as a school nurse on the Wirral. For the last 3 years she has volunteered with Wirral YFC, helping to deliver Romance Academy and drugs, alcohol and relationships lessons as part of their DARA project. Alison is passionate about helping young people to make healthy choices in this area of their lives and for them to know that they have a God who cares about them and who has an amazing plan for their lives.

Zoe Abernethy is married to Andy and they live on The Wirral. Zoe has worked for Wirral YFC for over 4 years and has recently set up a project called DARA. Zoe has run several romance academies over the past 3 years, both in and out of schools helping young people understand healthy relationships and is passionate about equipping young people to discover their self worth and God given potential. Zoe is an expert in working with young women with depression, self esteem and self harm issues.
