Medianet Academy

This June, the Churches Media Council is again running the Medianet Academy, a free 3-day training course for young Christians (18-35) who want to work in the media. The course will offer trainees the chance to get hands-on experience in either video, audio or web production. It’s great experience for the CV; past trainees have gone onto get jobs at the BBC and in commercial radio. Please do spread the word among your diocesan networks and get in touch with me if you have any questions. I attach the flyer and poster, as well as some blurb below.

Free training for young Christians wanting to work in the media
8-10 June 2009, Swanwick, Derbyshire
The Churches’ Media Council is running a 3-day training academy this June to help young Christians to break into the exciting world of the media.

They are looking for 16 young Christians to produce a mock episode of a reality TV show called ‘Angels and Demons’ using video, audio and the web. The Academy is a 3-day training course where they will learn new skills and get some great experience for their CV. Successful applicants will be trained by industry professionals as part of a multimedia team.

Participants from last year’s course described it as “constructive, fun and entertaining”, “fantastic” and even “life-changing”!

Training and accommodation are all provided free of charge. All participants have to pay for are their travel and a £30 admin fee on registration.

For more information or to download an application form, visit or call 0845 652 0027.
