The Britten-Pears Foundation Grant

Grant for third sector organisations (TSOs) working in the field of music in the UK.

Fund Value:£ 25,000
Maximum Value:£ 5,000
Grants will be awarded for the commissioning of substantial works up to a maximum of £5,000 per award.

Grants are made up to a total value of £25,000 per annum.

The Britten-Pears Foundation Grant is provided and administered by the Britten-Pears Foundation and is available for TSOs throughout the UK.

The scheme is intended to support registered charities and other organisations undertaking projects involving newly commissioned music


Deadline for application is 1 September 2010.

Eligible organisations must be either a UK registered charity or an organisation whose aims and objectives are of charitable intent.


Eligible Expenditure
Costs associated with eligible projects.



Restrictions
Funding is not available for:

•Capital projects.
•Tuition fees.
•Performance costs.
•Recordings.
•Educational or non-musical projects.
•Performances or recordings of the works of Benjamin Britten.


Application Procedure
Applications are made by submitting an application form and should include:

•Budgeting information for the commission and the first performance(s).
•Estimates of the number of people involved in the project, including performers and audience and proposed dates.
•Details of the amount of funding being requested.
•Details of plans for any subsequent performances.
•The name and details of the composer from whom the work is being commissioned, including a brief CV.
•Details of other sources of funding being sought.

The successful candidate will have special responsibility in overseeing, training and developing the existing programs with Sunday Schools and Youth Groups; outreach to teens; and developing links with the community through schools and other agencies.
